Napolean Dynamite

My mom has a friend that looks a lot like Napoleon Dynamite.
And he always asks me to bring him his chapstick.
He said he kept hearing about my cakes and wanted one.
I had a ton of extra supplies from the mandolin cake, so I made him this...

mandolin

This is a mandolin done for my uncle, Daniel Weldon.
Have you heard him play?
He's real good.
There were so many details that I had to take tons of pictures!
Chocolate cake, raspberry filling and almond buttercream.

Fondant flowers

This is what I have been up to so far in my fondant course...

My final fondant class, my final class period, is on Monday.  I'll be busy all weekend getting everything made and ready to go.  I am pretty excited!!  Just one more cake and I will be totally certified!!

I have two cakes coming up that I am REALLY excited for!!  From the beginning I was dying to make my oldest nephew a cake.  Mostly because he gets real excited about things.  He will probably squeal and jump up and down and scream and jump some more.  I cant' wait to see his little face light up!  I have such a fun cake planned for him!!  The other is a really fun cake for a little girl.  I haven't done any girly cakes yet, so I am pretty excited about it.  They are both right through the deer hunt though, so they are gonna be a little hectic!!  October is gonna be one busy month!!

Play ball

This is for a second birthday party.
White cake, raspberry filling, almond icing.

My first bow

This is my first bow I've done.
This cake was for my mother-in-law.
She didn't care about decorations.  Her only request was thin cream cheese frosting.
It was so thin it was running down the sides.
I had to slap it on and get it in the freezer to set.
So it's not super smooth, but it was delish!!

Cake balls

The were supposed to be cake pops but I made them too heavy.
So they turned into cake balls.
Chocolate cake with either peanut butter, raspberry, or honey butter filling.

They may not look exactly like I wanted, but they were delish!!  I got told they taste like heaven!
Plus, I know what I did wrong, and I am making more next week!!

Levi's first birthday

My best friend's baby turned 1 last month!
She wanted a little cake just for him.
And a big one for everyone else.
All matching the decorations she bought.
This little guy is just under four inches across...
Funfetti with lemon custard filling.

And a big two layer, ten inch cake for everyone else.
Funfetti with cream cheese filling.

Basketball and baseball border.

The little cake was actually eaten by her dog during the party.
So I ran home and made him a new one real quick to save the day.
You can call me Superman ;-)
Levi loved his cake though!!
I think he might be in a sugar induced coma...
Look at those droopy eyes!!

Zebra striped

With my extra batter and frosting from the Care Bear cake, I decided to make my sister a zebra cake!!

 With a star border!
